Phyathai’s Heart Center offers 24-hour surgical and non-surgical treatment and medical care for patients with heart diseases, young and adult patients alike. The center is staffed with a team of nurses with experience in caring for heart-disease patients and well equipped with advanced medical devices and equipment. Also available are the innovations of minimally invasive heart surgery, off-pump surgery and non-surgical procedure of sealing a hole in the heart with umbrella-like discs. All these contribute to a better treatment and our patients’ quicker recovery.
The Heart Centre comprises of various specialty units as follows:
1. Outpatient Unit provides diagnosis and treatment with high-technology noninvasive investigation devices, such as EST and Echocardiogram, by skilled cardiologists everyday from 7.00 – 20.00 hrs.
2. Cardiac Catheterization Lab caters to heart patients with suspected or obvious symptoms of Acute MI, with congenital heart disease, or with other cardio-vascular diseases warranting coronary angiogram or PCI/Stenting, including those with electrocardiogram abnormalities who need a permanent pacemaker. The lab is open 24 hours everyday, and in case of emergency a cardiologist and medical staff can ensure the cath lab is ready for use within only 30 minutes.
3. Coronary Care Unit takes care of heart patients who tend to be in a critical condition or currently in a coma, and thus need close, continuous care with all needed equipment available for immediate emergency treatment. In this connection, our CCU caters to surgical and non-surgical patients of all ages, with experienced cardiologists and ICU doctors always on standby.
4. Cardiosurgical Unit offers young and adult patients with advanced surgical techniques, including Off-pump technique and Minimally Invasive Heart Surgery, by heart surgeons and operation room staff all through 24 hours.
5. Inpatient Unit cares for both surgical and non-surgical patients by nurses who can monitor the change in electrocardiogram from the central monitor via bed side monitor and telemetry.
6. the advice: Heart Rehabilitation and Risk Factor Restriction Unit gives in- and out-patients advice on exercising, self-care and nutrition by doctors and nurses specialising in heart rehabilitation. It also conducts a post-surgery follow-up after release from hospital so as to ensure the patient’s understanding and encourage their adherence to the necessary rehabilitation as well as adapting their life style to keep healthy.
